Emergency Care for Your Pet

If your pet is seriously injured or suddenly unwell, contact us promptly.
Emergencies can include breathing problems, heavy bleeding, collapse, seizures, poisoning, severe pain, heatstroke, or difficulty giving birth. Our team is here to provide calm support and urgent veterinary care.
Recognising an Emergency
Seek urgent veterinary help if your pet is struggling to breathe, has pale or blue gums, cannot stand or is lethargic, is bleeding heavily, has repeated vomiting, a swollen abdomen, a seizure, or may have eaten something poisonous.Â
Keep your pet calm and safe. Move them carefully, keep them warm, and avoid giving food, water, or medication unless a veterinary professional advises you. Bring any suspected toxin or medication packaging, and call ahead so our team can prepare.

Contact Us for Emergency Care
For urgent assistance, call Queanbeyan Veterinary Hospital before travelling to the clinic. Tell us what happened, when it started, and how your pet is behaving. Please check our opening hours and contact details before you leave.
If there is a closer veterinary clinic, please call them first in an emergency so your pet can be stabilised as soon as possible.
